
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KRON) – A Tesla was in flames after the automobile’s battery compartment “spontaneously” caught hearth on Freeway 50, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fireplace District mentioned on Twitter.
Crews used roughly 6,000 gallons of water to place out a hearth that broken the Tesla Mannequin S.
The Tesla was touring at “freeway speeds” when the hearth broke out, officers mentioned. Photographs from the scene present the entrance of the automobile severely broken.
No accidents had been reported from this incident.
Firefighters labored to extinguish the flames on the shoulder of eastbound Freeway 50 and Dawn Boulevard in Rancho Cordova.
Two hearth vehicles, a water tender and a ladder truck had been used to extinguish the blaze. Crews used automobile jacks to place out the hearth beneath the automobile.
Officers mentioned the big quantity of water used was because of the battery cells of the Tesla persevering with to combust. The incident occurred round 3:41 p.m.
